EDUCA is a programme launched by the University of Seville which has the purpose of spreading the university’s heritage
Its aim is to bring students closer to the valuable historical, artistic and architectural legacy that the US preserves
and which is distributed throughout different areas of the city.
The programme develops various lines of action, including guided tours, publications, specific workshops,
conferences and lecture series.
Discover your university. Come to the university of Seville
One of the first activities that have been carried out is the project 'Descubre tu Universidad.
Entra en la US (Discover your university. Come to the university of Seville)', aimed at high school students
The project aims to offer educational activities as a cross-curricular subject in the syllabus and to bring
young people closer to the University of Seville, a centuries-old institution and repository of a vast and rich heritage.
Every year on 18 November, European University Heritage Day is celebrated with special tours that have become a fixture
in Seville's cultural calendar.
Guided tours for students
Currently, as part of our educational objectives, the Vice-Chancellor's Office for Culture and Heritage at the University of Seville
organises guided tours of the Rectorate (Former Tobacco Factory) and the Pantheon of Illustrious Sevillians + Church of the Annunciation,
aimed at promoting the university's heritage among secondary school students.
Available exclusively for groups of up to 60 people.
They take place on Fridays, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with each visit lasting approximately 30 to 40 minutes.
During the tour, the group must be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult.
If there are more than 30 people, they will be divided into two groups, allowing participants to remain in the Rectorate Gardens.
Rectorate (Former Tobacco Factory)
Visit the historic Rectorate building, formerly the Royal Tobacco Factory, and discover its artistic and architectural treasures.
Because of the European University Heritage Day, our team, alongside a group of primary
school and high-school teachers, created an educational leaflet to serve as a learning guide.
This guide also includes a series of activities for visitors to solve.
